About Honey
Bear Press

Rooted in the bold tradition of printmaking, our traveling studio is a space for creativity, curiosity, and craftsmanship.

We offer workshops to teach the art of carving, inking, and printing—turning simple blocks into bold, expressive prints. Whether you’re here to learn something new, or dive deeper into printmaking, you’ll leave with art you’re proud of and a deeper connection to the creative process.

About the
Artist

Kat Schmidt is a printmaker based in Des Moines, Iowa, working in woodblock and linoleum relief since 2014.

Her artistic influences draw from Art Nouveau’s celebration of organic forms as well as cultural anthropology.

She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Art and Visual Culture from Iowa State University in 2015, with an emphasis in printmaking and painting. Kat's work has been exhibited in national group exhibitions, as well as solo and group shows throughout Iowa and St. Louis, Missouri. She has also completed a mural commission for the University of Colorado Boulder’s College of Music.
